About Us

Reality Check Uganda is a not for profit investigative journalism and fact checking website run by the Centre for Investigative Journalism in Uganda-CIJU. It investigates claims made in the public arena in Uganda using journalistic skills and evidence based reporting backed by online tools, readers, open data and experts. We fact check and publish findings that are backed by the evidence.
Reality Check Uganda works with the readers who help us in pointing out the claims that need to be fact checked.
At Reality Check Uganda we believe that for democracy to function in Uganda, public officials need to be held to account for what they say. The claims they make need to be checked, openly and in an impartial manner.
Reality Check Uganda aims to apply the best practices of journalism to increase civic awareness and knowledge in Uganda.
