DP Threatens Court Action over Presidential ‘Handshake’

Democratic Party has joined other opposition parties to demand for the refund of the six billion shillings presidential ‘handshake’.
The party President Nobert Mao says need the accused officials to immediately refund the money.
According to Mao DP lawyers are studying the ‘handshake’ with the view of filing a case against the officials who shared the six billion shillings.
DP has criticized the deputy Chief Justice Steven kavuma for issuing the interi injuntion against the discussion of the matter.
DP says the decision by the judge infringes on the freedom of expression.
People from across the political divide have condemned Justice Steven Kavuma for issuing the interim order stopping the discussion of the ‘handshake’. Speaker Kadaga has described the interim injunction as ‘stupid’.
Officials from Uganda Revenue Authority who are led by Doris Akol have caused an uproar by sharing among themselves six billion shillings recovered from the oil tax.
