Fact: Former Minister Peter Otai to be Buried in Uganda

Government has Okayed return of the remains of Peter Otai, a former leader of the defunct Uganda People’s Army-UPA for burial at his home in Oderai,   Soroti.

The body is to be flown back in the next two weeks. At his home in Oderai prsoners had been deployed to clear the compound.

Peter Otai was born in 1939 in Tiditiek Village in Ngora District. He was the second born to the family of Mzee Iloot and Besi Asano.

He was appointed Deputy Minister for defense in Obote II government, a position he served until 1985 when the government was overthrown.

Otai then fled to London where lived till his death last week.
