Each year the world celebrates International Open Data Day, and this year again Fund Africa Inc. in partnership with the Open knowledge Foundation, Net Squared Uganda and Communication without Boarders (CWB) are excited to be celebrating yet another edition of the international Open Data Day.
Open data is the idea that some data should be freely available to everyone to use and republish as they wish, without restrictions from copyrights, patents or other mechanisms of control. (Wiki)
This year our theme focuses on open science and women in the (STEM) fields Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM). We shall have an over view of open science and how society can tap in this data and how we can encourage girls to join STEM.
The event will take place on Friday 18th March 2015 at Chez-Moi Lounge B1 kamwokya Center from 2pm to 4pm. Following networking thereafter.
Participation is absolutely free for all.
